Admissions

Westwood Christian School does not discriminate in student admission or services on the basis of race, color, or ethnicity.  A child must be in the appropriate age for the class he/she is applying for on or before September 1st.  For instance, a student entering K-3 must be three years old on or before September 1st of that year. The child must also be potty trained and able to use the restroom independently to enter

K-3.

Students are admitted on the basis of available space and submission of required documentation.  Admission is also decided by student interviews. Interviews take place in June. When classes are full, prospective students are placed on a waiting list and are called as space becomes available. All new admissions are on a probationary basis for the first grading period.

Enrollment for New Students

WELCOME!

Enrollment for 2024-2025 school year is underway. Our classroom space is limited, and many classes fill quickly.  Students are not accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Once classes are full, WCS keeps a waiting list of all applicants with completed requirements.

Each new student will be interviewed once WCS has received all the required records.  Families of new students will be contacted in June to schedule the interview.

Scholarship students (Florida Tax Credit, Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options, Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities, AAA) must provide WCS with an eligibility confirmation letter upon return of the enrollment packet.  DO NOT delay applying for these scholarships!  Funds are limited and not guaranteed from year to year.

Parents are responsible for verifying Westwood twice a year in order for the funds to be transferred to the school. This is done on the SUFS website. Parents will receive emails regarding this matter.

Families without scholarships must meet with WCS Administration prior to the beginning of the school year to discuss monthly required payments.

Please submit with the application packet:

Birth Certificate,

Most Recent Standardized Test Scores

Immunization Record or Religious Exemption,

Most Recent Physical (with scoliosis screening for grades 6 and up),

Social Security Card (optional)

Enrollment for Returning Students

Re-enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is underway!  Be reminded our classroom space is very limited.  WCS will keep a list of all applicants with completed requirements.  Students are NOT accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Some returning students will be scheduled to meet with administration prior to a final enrollment decision.  Student acceptance will be given to returning students, provided they have met or completed the guidelines below in a timely manner.

The items listed below will be considered by the WCS administration prior to "returning" students being accepted.

  • Student's academic progress, daily attendance, tardiness, conduct, and discipline.
  • 2023-2024 financial balance paid in full by May 24 (including lunch and after care).
  • 7th Grade students must provide an updated shot record.
  • The return application must be completed and returned for each student.  Suggested deadline is Friday, May 24 -- the last day of school.
  • Print Scholarship Awards Letter and return it with the enrollment packet (Florida Tax Credit, Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options, Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities, AAA).  Do not delay in applying for these scholarships!  Funds are limited and are not guaranteed from year to year.

Once classes are full, no additional students will be added, although a waiting list will be maintained.
